Three parts. One habit.
Cue is the trigger that starts your habit — a time, a place, a feeling or an event. Routine is the action you take in response: the habit itself. Reward is the benefit or good feeling afterwards, and it’s what makes you want to repeat it.
- Set a cue — “after my morning coffee”
- Keep the routine small — “15 min. Reading Book”
- Name the reward — and see it after each check-in
Advanced habit building, on every habit.
When you add a habit you can fill in its cue, routine and reward. After a successful check-in, Habit AI reminds you of the reward — closing the loop while it still counts.

From habit to lifestyle.
It takes 21 repetitions to build a habit and 90 to create a lifestyle. Habit AI counts both, celebrates milestones at 7, 21, 30 and 66 days, and lets you skip a day without breaking your streak. Use the loop to break a bad habit →

Questions, answered
What is the habit loop?
A model of how habits work: a cue triggers a routine, and a reward reinforces it. Repeating the loop makes the behavior automatic.
How long does it take to build a habit?
Habit AI uses 21 repetitions to mark a habit as gained and 90 to call it a lifestyle. Everyone is different — what matters is showing up most days.
Does skipping a day break my streak?
No. You can mark a day as skipped, and skips don’t affect your streak. A missed day is marked as failed.
Can I use the loop to quit a habit?
Yes. Spot the cue of a habit you want to drop and swap the routine for a better one that gives a similar reward. Breaking bad habits.
